Heavy 24% lead crystal Coaster Set (4) embossed playing card suits Nut Dishes

Vintage 2000, new without box, heavy, round 24% lead crystal, rimmed Coaster or Nut Dish set of 4 with rear embossed playing card suit motifs on the bottom center. Made by the well respected, now defunct St. George Crystal (see below notes for details on the maker) of Pennsylvania, USA. These coasters/dishes measure 3 3/4″ in diameter and are 3/4″ high to the top of the ribbed side rims and weigh a hefty 5 oz. each. The insides measure 3 1/8″ wide in the inside and 3/8″ high. Original silvered St. George Crystal stickers on the front of 2. In excellent condition, new. A beautiful set for game night or for serving drinks or small bites at a bar. Makes a perfect gift for a card player!

Notes on St. George Crystal:
St. George Crystal was established in 1985 in Jeanette, PA as a producer of ornamental glassware, lead crystal glass and chandelier parts. They designed and manufactured private label glass products for a number of outlets as well as brands such as Kenilworth, Ligonier and Tosca. In 2000, the company started to make items under its own name as well. The company is known for the high ball and old fashioned glasses it made for the dining room of the US Senate and the wine glasses for the dining room of the US House of Representatives. The company ceased operations in 2007.
